After a lot of back and forth, I have opted to put my Miata up for sale. It has been a great car over the 5 years I have owned it, but it is time for something a little different.
1991 Mazda Miata - $8000
1.6 w/ Long Nose Crank
FM Springs with Koni Yellow shocks
14x7 +28 RPF1
I purchased this car in June of 2014 off of the second owner with 54,000 miles. The previous owner of the car had it in his possession for over 21 years. The car was completely stock at the time of my purchase.
During the time I have owned the car, I have completed a full baseline and replaced worn items with upgraded components. Maintenance and upgrades consist of:
New timing belt w/ tensioners
Genuine Mazda water pump
Replaced all radiator hoses
New CAS O-ring
Replaced valve cover gasket
Replaced Cam seals
Replaced Front Main Seal
Replaced all accessory belts
Transmission fluid replaced with Red-Line synthetic
Differential fluid replaced with Red-Line synthetic
Shift turret flushed w/ new shift boots installed
Brake fluid flushed
Clutch fluid flushed
Annual oil changes with Mobil 1 Synthetic
Flyin Miata springs
Koni Yellow Dampers
Flyin Miata rear shock mounts (stock replacement fronts)
Flyin Miata braided stainless brake lines
EBC Yellow pads w/ new rotors
14x7 +28 RPF1s with Dunlop Direzza z2
clean factory daisies are also included with the car)
Koyo 37mm radiator
Flyin Miata Silicone lower radiator hose
Aux-in line added to factory radio by Jeff Anderson
330mm Nardi Deep Corn wheel
(original undamaged wheel included with car)
Daikei Boss hub
(retains factory airbag wiring)
Revlimiter gauge faces
Rspeed front lip
Foamectomy on the drivers side (foam was removed in one piece and can be reinstalled)
The body on this car is in great shape, wearing original paint and zero rust. The car has always been garage kept and has had no exposure to salt. Paint is a solid 8/10 with a few imperfections. Some light scuffing is present on the upper part of the front bumper cover. The hood, headlight covers, and front bumper have some light stone chips.
A large stone chip is present on the drivers side rocker panel. A small door ding is present on the drivers side door.
The windshield has a deep scratch towards the middle.
The rear finish panel has cracks under both taillights. As far as I am aware, the soft top is original.
It is in good condition with no tears or leaks.
Light scratching is present on the plastic window, but it remains clear and un-yellowed. The tires have plenty of life left and the wheels are clean with zero curb rash.
Undamaged factory daisies are also included with the car.
I would consider the interior a 9/10. The seats are in good condition with no rips or tears.
The dash and interior plastics are all in great shape, with no damage or oxidation. Carpets show some evidence of wear, but have no rips, tears or thin spots. The original soft-top cover is in good shape.
The car runs and drives extremely well. The engine idles smoothly and pulls cleanly to redline. No leaks are present.
The combination of FM springs and the rear shock mounts sharpen the handling over stock while still providing a ride that is all-day comfortable. I would not hesitate to drive this car across the country.
Detailed pictures are in the album linked below.
I have included undercarriage and suspension pictures. All warts are documented.
