Up for sale is a like new in box Glycine Airman DC-4, GL0218. Comes complete with box, papers (including signed warranty card from AD), and hangtag.
42mm, 12mm thick, 200m WR. Vintagey red date wheel with cyclops. Sellita SW300-1 (clone of the ETA 2893). I think the lug to lug is about 50mm.
I like this Airman a lot. In particular, it has both the 12 hour scale (for the primary hour hand) and a 24 hour sale (for the GMT hand). None of the other non-purist Airmen do this, which is why I was interested in it. But I find myself not wearing pilot's watches, so up it goes.
It's in like-new-in-box condition, with the plastics still on. I've put it on my wrist just to try it out. It's not left the house except to go outside for the attached pics. I've not tested the watch for accuracy, but I did wind it up and let it run for a while.... it looks OK.Here's the catch: The GMT is misaligned (see the pic where the hands are at 12). It looks to be off by about 20 minutes. My understanding is that this is not uncommon for airmen these days. I contacted the retailer that I purchased from, and they told me that I could send it to the authorized repair agent for warranty work to have the hands reset for free, since I bought it from an AD. But since I know I'm probably not going to wear it much, I don't want to bother fixing it. So you can fix it, and get a perfect, basically new watch for a big discount, or if it doesn't bother you, you can just wear it as-is.
With that condition, I'm asking $420 FIRM, which includes payment via PayPal and domestic U.S. shipping via USPS priority mail. Because of the condition, this sale is as-is, no refunds.
PM me your interest! Thanks for looking!
